This vibrant but unpretentious Pinot Noir displays the exceptional fruit quality of the 2022 vintage. Aromas of red cherry and pomegranate, with dusty sage, dried herbs, roses, and cracked pepper are recognizable as classic Donnachadh Pinot Noir. The wine comes alive on the palate with juicy dark red cherry flavors, bright acidity, and silky tannins. A bottle will pair easily with almost any meal, but drinks well on its own, too.
Family owned and organically farmed, Donnachadh Vineyard is located on Santa Rosa Road in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA of Santa Barbara County. The property is 285 acres with approximately 40 acres planted to vine in 2013. We grow Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Gamay Noir.
Wine Advocate Review:
The 2022 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills is scented of cranberry sauce, bitter orange, Angostura bitters and tea leaves with earthy undertones. The medium-bodied palate offers a concentrated core of nuanced fruit and vibrant acidity. It has a firm, somewhat rustic frame of tannins and a long, perfumed finish. It will pair well with heartier dishes. Anticipated Maturity: 2024-2028
