From a vineyard planted at 1500 ft elevation, meter by meter so the vines are incredibly dense, on a site that is at a 30 degree slope, this wine shows an intensity that comes from its origins. Lively and energetic, the blue and purple fruits compete for your attention. On the palate, the natural acidity screams for something rich and hearty and the tannins coat the palate and give way to a long, lingering finish.
Wine Advocate Review:
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Janeen is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon coming from Sage Ridge and Tench vineyard with 12.5% Merlot coming from Sugarloaf Mountain vineyard. Deep garnet-purple colored, it bursts with bold notions of crème de cassis, plum preserves and chocolate-covered cherries, plus hints of Chinese five spice, dried mint and smoked meats. Medium to full-bodied, rich and velvety in the mouth, it has loads of spicy sparks and a spicy kick on the finish. 310 cases were made. Anticipated Maturity: 2023-2030
