The Nittardi Belcanto Chianti Classico has a ruby-red color in the glass. The wine opens with juicy cherry and raspberry with hints of Mediterranean and floral notes on the nose. Medium bodied with grippy tannins on the palate and a fresh and long finish.
Excellently suited to Tuscan appetizers and Charcuterie as well as to all variations of pasta.
90% Sangiovese, 10% other local grape varieties such as Canaiolo, Colorino and Malvasia Nera, all estate grown, all certified organic, in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti. Aged for 15 months in 35hl botti, made out of French and Austrian oak, 4 months in concrete vats, and a few months in the bottle.
James Suckling Review:
This is red-fruited and a little earthy with notes of chocolate and hibiscus. Ripe and mellow with a medium to full body and grainy tannin structure. Complete and attractive with savory notes at the end. From organically grown grapes.
