This exclusive solera of Amontillado consists of 38 casks. It is aged for an average period of 18 years, in the cellars of the Castle of San Marcos in the coastal town of El Puerto de Santa María. Beautiful bright amber color with coppery reflections. This wine shows aromas of hazelnut praline and candied orange zest with nuances of smoked wood in the background.
Serve as an apéritif, with “tapas” and nuts, or to accompany dishes such as consommés, foie-gras, cold and smoked meats, a cheeseboard, and even rich flavored fish or seafood dishes. It is a wine that pairs perfectly with spicy Asian cuisine.

Tim Atkin Review:
Aged under the castle of San Marcos in El Puerto (hence the name), aged just short of the limit required for VOS, this is a lovely classic Amontillado with clean spice and polish.High oxidation makes this come close to an Oloroso, but the drinkability is sheer Amontillado, confirming Lustau's reputation as specialists in this category of sherry. One of the best value wines in Jerez.
