This is gewürztraminer personified with wonderfully lifted florals and pronounced notes of lychee and citrus. The wine has a soft and rounded texture  with a weighty, generous mid-palate. Rose petal flavors give way to ripe tropical fruits while the finish has a pithy lemon character. Intensely concentrated, complex and delicious.

Try with exotic, well-flavored and spicy foods such as Moroccan dishes with dried fruits or Asian inspired foods. It works well with these flavors: fresh ginger, clove, cinnamon, allspice, turmeric, madras curry, Sichuan pepper, soy sauce, sesame, almond, and rose water.

100% Gewurztraminer sourced 95% from our Home Block around the winery, planted in 1981, with the balance from the Woodward block located a few hundred meters down the road.

Wine Enthusiast Review:
This pale gold-hued Gewürz is a strong example of the variety, one that's waned in popularity in New Zealand but that can be as bombastic and crowd-pleasing as the country's famed Sauvignon Blanc. It's ultra-aromatic, with a concentrated perfume of candied ginger, tangerine peel, lychee and rose water. The mouthfeel is viscous but with plenty of freshness and a bit of alcohol heat. Needs full-flavored cuisine like Korean barbecue pork. -C.P.
