This is a well-balanced wine with a lingering finish. Scents of sweet raspberry, spice, and cinnabon open to ripe fruit flavors of raspberry, cherry with root beer notes. The finish is delicious and warm showing toast, caramel and well-integrated oak.
After the grapes are hand harvested and pressed, fermentation takes place in tanks before being transferred to barrels. All wines undergo native fermentation. Ramonet believes that the gross lees contribute good elements to the the wine so they do not allow them to settle out after pressing.
Aged for 12 months in 30-35% new oak.
Wine Spectator Review:
Black cherry, blackberry, violet, smoke and toasty oak flavors highlight this suave, silky red. Almost seamless from start to finish, with just a dusting of tannins to distract from the smooth balance and texture. Very fresh and bursting with fruit and spice notes on the finish. Best from 2026 through 2043. 25 cases imported.
