The Gulfi Carjcanti appears yellow with strong hints of green in the glass. The nose is strong and typical of the Carricante variety, with notes of green apple. The palate is dry, savory, persistent, with pleasant acidity.
Excellent with fish dishes.
100% Carricante from Vigna Campo, district of Passo Guastella Chiaramonte Gulfi. Grapes are harvested during the third week of September then fermented into white wine with direct pressing in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, capacity 500L and 2500L.
Wine Advocate Review:
The Gulfi 2021 Carjcanti has an oily side with apricot and poached pear followed by light hints of crushed stone and flint. The wine is meaty and fleshy with lots of fiber and volume on the mid-palate. It closes with apple and white fruits (and light spice). This is a bigger more elaborate expression of Carricante. Anticipated Maturity: 2025-2033
