This is a fresh and fruity Sangiovese coming from its homeland in Tuscany. The wine is certified organic and vegan, using one of the flagship varieties of Tuscany.
Even though the estate Monte Bernardi dates back to 1085 in the region of Panzano in Tuscany, Michael Schmelzer and family purchased the estate in 2003 and have been making beautiful Sangiovese-based wines and olive oil ever since. In addition to Monte Bernardi, Michael also keeps himself busy with several other projects in Italy, one of those being Fuoristrada, which means “off road.” The focus with this project is making excellent wine under an eco-friendly label on par with the quality you’d expect from the Monte Bernardi wines. Fuoristrada is packed, not “bottled” in a Tetra Pak resulting in a liter package. This means more wine for you, and less impact on the environment.
