A superb example of Awatere Sauvignon. The Awatere Valley is slightly cooler than the rest of Marlborough, so this crisp and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc is more European in style than is most commonly seen from the region. It is tight, elegant and fresh with aromas of white peach, gooseberry and citrus peel that intermingle with mineral and sherbet notes.
This versatile wine pairs perfectly with seafood, Asian flavors and many dishes with herbs and greens – basil, coriander, rocket and especially mint. Pair with Asian-style seafood dishes - oysters, scallops, crab, clams, lobster, prawns. Thai green chicken curry or a Thai-style chicken salad. Grilled fish especially squid or swordfish. Dishes with herbs and greens - salmon with dill, for instance, but great with recipes that contain basil, coriander, rocket and especially mint.
Machine harvested, stainless steel cool tank fermentation for three weeks and then left to relax for three weeks. A light racking and then prepped for bottling in August.
