Product Details
This comes from south-facing, 12-year-old vines, which have been organically farmed by the domaine, since 2020. The importance of old vines is much less significant for Chardonnay than for Pinot Noir, and a youthful white Burgundy vineyard – as is the case here – can often produce wines of striking vivacity and fruit intensity. One third of the volume has been vinified and aged in a large, oval tun, the balance in 228- and 400-litre barrels, of which just one was new. Colour is green-golden, aromas intense, bright and open. This has concentrated fruitiness, richness with elegance and refreshingly fine length.

Very attractive Amalfi lemon and lemon tart aromas plus just a hint of exotic fruit are wrapped around the elegant structure of this excellent, medium- to full-bodied Montagny. Builds to an expressive and beautifully balanced crescendo. From a 0.5-hectare plot facing southeast. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
