Product Details
A bright color, a fresh and elegant nose. Its aromas evoke violet and small red fruits. Over time, notes of ripe fruits, with subtle toasted and roasted nuances. The tannins, fine and elegant, bring a beautiful sensation of roundness and velvety. The acidity offers freshness to this ample and distinguished wine.
100% Pinot Noir from vines ranging from 30-80 years old in the plots of Les Aussy, Les Petits Gamets, La Gigotte, Les Buttes, La Robardelle, Les Grands Poisots, Ez Echards, Les Combes, and La Cave. Aged on fine lees in oak barrels. 20% new barrels.
Burghound Review:
A slightly riper nose features liqueur-like notes of dark berries, violet, rose petal and anise hints. There is better density if not quite the same refinement to the delicious medium-bodied flavors that display focused power on the chalky, youthfully austere and noticeably more structured finale. This is quite different from the straight Volnay and while it will probably prove to be the better wine, that will likely only be at full maturity. Outstanding Top value Drink: 2029+
