Its buttery, rich and delicious nose and its fresh and round mouth reveal notes of ripe pear and candied quince which make it a unique champagne, a true reflection of family know-how.
Champagne Delong Marlene was founded in 1966 by Gerard Delong, who bought several plots of land in Alleman. Gerard gave his first grape harvests to the cooperative. With a desire to control all production and improve his wines, he purchased his first wine press in 1980 and released his first cuvée that same year. In 2000, Gerard's daughter Marlene began managing the estate, and the house was named Champagne Delong Marlene. Today, young enthusiasts Marlene and her friend Damien grow three grape varieties (classic Champagne Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay) on vines whose average age is 40 years. The estate's vineyards, with a total area of more than 5 hectares, cover 3 villages of the Côtes du Cézanne: Allemant, Broy and Cézanne. The chalk subsoil and the very varied soils in each municipality are the main advantages for growing grapes. Marlene DeLong is proud of her roots, like her father, she is an independent winegrower and declares her freedom to create wines according to her desires, while respecting the traditions of Champagne.
