Deep ruby red with flashes of purple. A nose of red fruit, quince and raspberry with a hint of menthol. Rich and round with a dense, velvety tannic structure, this is a wine full of charm. Diverging a little from the AOC Saint Estèphe stereotype, it is full, well-rounded and fragrant, agreeably taut on the finish, and without a hint of austerity. An iron fist in a velvet glove is the perfect definition of this Château Tour de Pez 2019.
64% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc
Wine Advocate Review:
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Tour de Pez is redolent of crème de cassis, wild blueberries and redcurrant jelly with touches of lavender, Sichuan pepper and tobacco leaf. The medium-bodied palate delivers bags of juicy black fruits with a lively line of freshness and well-played, soft tannins, finishing with an invigorating lift. Anticipated Maturity: 2023-2040
