Beautiful balance, with pear and white floral aromas. The complexity added by 15% neutral barrels suggests dried apricot, with a creamy mid-palate complementing the crisp finish.

Carabella produces elegant estate Pinot Noir, Dijon Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Winemaker/geologist Mike Hallock's minimalist philosophy in the cellar focuses on the elegance and complexity inherent in Parrett Mountain's volcanic soils. Trained as a winemaker in Colorado, he brought his tanks and equipment over the mountains on a flatbed to Oregon for the first vintage in 1998.

Wine Enthusiast Review:
Spicy pear fruit grabs hold of the palate and hangs on all the way through. It's got a granular, slightly crunchy mouthfeel, and backing acids that bring a splash of grapefruit and lemon. It's a refreshing, solid, tart wine that should be enjoyed over the next couple of years. -P.G.
