The Finca Zarzamochuelo Rioja appears a cherry red color in the glass. The initial bouquet is floral (dry rose petals), spicy, fresh with hints of red fruits and balsamics. On the palate it is complex, hearty with mineral undertones.
90% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano sourced entirely from 40+ year-old vines from the single vineyard Finca Zarzamochuelo. The estate vineyard is situated in the Rioja Alavesa halfway between Lapuebla de Labarca and Laguardia, at an altitude of 470m. Aged for 16 months in French and American oak.

In 1987, we were captivated by this rugged terrain and the old vines of Rioja Alavesa, sheltered from the extreme cold by the Sierra Cantabria and gazing southwards with the sun as a true ally. A unique and privileged place in which to create Bodegas Zugober.
