Bodegas Bhilar from Rioja has produced wines in the Sierra de Salamanca since 2009. The wines are produced in the same way as the ones from Rioja: skin contact for the whites and full clusters for the reds, long macerations and élevage in 500-liter barrels for two winters.
Wine Advocate Review: The 2017 Phinca Encanto Rufete shows a darker profile of aromas and earthier sensations than the 2018 I tasted next to it, but the varietal character emerged with time in the glass. It's slightly more rustic and has grainy tannins that call for food. 2,200 bottles were filled in the spring of 2020.
