Blackwell Rum Black Gold Special Reserve is a luminous "dark" rum with a deep amber glow. Beautiful, bright, dark. The nose smells deeply of Demerara sugar, molasses and treacle. The taste of rich molasses comes across like cocoa and chocolate, which lasts long into the finish.
Blackwell Rum is based on an original family recipe and blended to Chris Blackwell’s personal taste. In the deliberate, no worries style of Jamaica, the creation of Blackwell Rum was an unhurried affair. What’s the rush? Chris naturally took his time tasting, tweaking and balancing the blend until he was absolutely sure. Getting the rhythm and the feel – the rum beat – absolutely right like he was producing a song. The ‘spirit of adventure’ bottle was designed by Blackwell’s partner, the celebrated ad man and irreverent self-proclaimed “Madboy” Richard Kirshenbaum. It’s a bottle with real bottle, making it clear this is a drink with attitude. D.W.A.
