The family of Jose Maria Pombal makes most of their money as mejilloneros (Mussel farmers). Before 2010 they had never labeled a bottle of their wine before. It had always been given away to their best mussel customers to use as ‘vino de la casa.’
Organic Farming. Hand-harvested vineyards of Albariño. Grapes are de-stemmed, crushed and pressed in a pneumatic press. The must is racked and fermented for about 8 days. The wine is aged in a steel tank for 10 months.
Wine Advocate Review:
The 2022 Arcan is faintly reductive and floral, with a tropical and exotic touch, and it's ripe at 13.5% alcohol, reflecting a warm year, and with a soft palate and integrated acidity. Anticipated Maturity: 2023-2026
