The Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc appears a pale lemon color in the glass. The nose is classical Marlborough with aromas of blackcurrant, grapefruit, lime and crushed herbs underscored with complexing hints of tropical fruits and gooseberry. Pure and concentrated on the palate with flavors of white peach, boxwood, citrus and wet river stone. The palate is concentrated yet elegant with flavor density and a lingering, textured finish.
A perfect accompaniment to fresh seafood, summer salads, light poultry and goat’s cheese.
Wine Spectator Review (90 Points, Top 100, 2024 - #41):
White pepper, lemon blossom and fresh ginger notes are vibrant and expressive, with a mouthwatering core of lime, pomelo, lemon balm and lemongrass lingering on the finish. Drink now. 919,000 cases made.
