Located in Le Fioraie, in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, this estate was founded in 1954 by a Milanese family and owned since 2013 by Larissa Karaban, who founded a chain of perfume and cosmetics boutiques in her native Russia. The estate is of modest size, cultivating roughly thirty acres planted mostly to Sangiovese. This Chianti Classico is 90% Sangiovese, with the balnce made up of traditional Tuscan varieties like Cilirgiolo, Colorino, and Canaiolo. The wine ferments in stainless steel, then some of it sees wood ageing while some goes into cement tanks. This is a nicely intense Sangiovese, mildly earthy, with dark berry fruit and a moderate level of tannins.
