The Inama Foscarino Soave Classico opens fresh, mineral, deep, with fragrant field flower notes (chamomile, elderflower, iris). On the palate is rich, complex and multilayered with an almond finish. With the passing of time, these notes transform into even more complex aromas of pollens and dried flowers.
Foscarino Soave Classico is a wine that demonstrates the real potential of the Garganega grape. Inama uses a selection of some of its oldest vines, from vineyards (vigneti) on volcanic Mount Foscarino in the Soave Classico area. The vineyards face east, catching the morning sun but avoiding the afternoon heat, which helps to maintain the beautiful floral notes and the minerality but with a deeper and more complex texture.
100% Garganega. Remains in fermentation barriques for 6 months with batonnage every 6 weeks.
Wine Enthusiast Review:
This bottling is a serious wine that demands attention and respect, yet is inviting enough to just enjoy. Roasted peach, petrol, and Gravenstein apple aromas are a complex tapestry, woven together with threads of pressed flowers and honey. It's a bouquet that's both rich and refined. The wine is rich and mouthfilling. Yet, it's not a wine that rests on its laurels—focused acidity keeps the palate fresh and lively, like a bright beam of light cutting through the richness. Roasted citrus peel adds a subtle bitterness that complements the wine's youthful fruit forwardness. This Soave is a beauty and a powerhouse: a wine that's not afraid to make a statement. It's textured and salty, with a finish that lingers long after the last sip is gone. Drink now–2045. -J.P.
