Medium bodied with velvety tannins and flush with ripe red fruit coupled with classic Mencia spice and herbal notes.
The Guimaro Ribeira Sacra 2022 is sourced from multiple plots of Mencía vines with an average age of 40 years old, located in and around Ribeira Sacra. The grapes were harvested by hand and fermented in stainless steel tank with native yeasts. The wine rests in the same vessel for 8 months on the lees, then is bottled.
Wine Advocate Review:
The young red 2022 Vino Tinto has notes of honey and beeswax, and it's juicy and velvety, with ripe flavors of berries and herbs, varietal and tasty. It has a moderate 12.5% alcohol. With 100,000 bottles produced, it represents half of the annual output of the winery. Anticipated Maturity: 2023-2027
