A pretty color, slighly ambered. Its nose is intense and opens up on a floral background, complemented with notes of boxwood, hazelnuts and citrus fruit. Its mouth is ample and structured by a liveliness full of jammy citrus flavors, sustained by a developed acidity, providing it with a long finish. A touch of peppermint and saline bitterness accentuate the final.
100% Sauvignon Blanc, 75% from 20 year old vines and at 25% from 40 to 60 year old vines, with a tiny amount from young vines. The wine is aged on the lees. Expressive citrus and floral notes, with a hint of salinity.
Quincy is located just west of the famous vineyards of Sancerre in the central Loire Valley. This tiny appellation lies in the shadow of its very large neighbor Sancerre, along the River Cher. It consists of only 270 hectares of plateaux vineyards made up of old sand and gravel, shared amongst about 25 producers. This whole area of France was covered by an ancient ocean and the resulting limestone soils are ideal for Sauvignon Blanc cultivation.
