Delicate and subtle nose of honeysuckle, fresh herbs, and elderflower. Nicely concentrated, the noticeable presence of the fruit leaves an astonishing body and acrisp dryness. A pure and elegant finish with a fresh acidity, counterbalancing therichness of the ripened fruit.
Superb as an aperitif, and a perfect accompaniment to asparagus, artichoke, fennel, vegetable terrines, lightly spiced dishes, and soft shell crab.
70% Muscat Ottonel, 30% Muscat d’Alsace sourced from older vines in our monopole Clos des Capucins vineyard composed of sandy silt soil on granite pebbles. The grapes growing in this terroir ripen much earlier, producing wines with complex aromatics and a powerful concentration.
Wine Advocate Review:
Picked at the end of September, the 2017 Alsace Muscat displays a floral bouquet with bergamot aromas. Based on 70% Ottonel and 30% Muscat d'Alsace, this is a rich, intense and powerful yet dry and elegant wine with a long, aromatic finish. Delicious! Tasted October 2018. Anticipated Maturity: 2020-2030
