Striking a seemingly perfect balance between plushness and precision, the vibrantly crimson colored wine perfumes with cherry cola and fresh flowers while buttressed with brambly garrigue notes and characteristic flinty minerality. Straightforward and compact, the wine opens with bright raspberry and rhubarb and then reveals more nuanced hints of confectioners chocolate, schist, and dried herbs. Ever-present, is a satisfying vein of acidity that perfectly supports the wine's complexity.
Aged in 30% new french oak for 18 months then in the bottle for 5 months before release.
Wine Advocate Review:
Winemaker Dave Phinney's 2018 Others is a blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% each Carignan, Lledoner Pelut and Mourvèdre. Offering up bold scents of mixed berries and dark chocolate, it's full-bodied, rich and velvety, with a long finish. Anticipated Maturity: 2022-2027
