The prized Nero d'Avola grape is the most historically important grape variety in Silicily. The flavors of dark fruits, mocha, and liquorice are bold and exciting, making this bottle a great ally to regional to regional Italian cuisine, as well as other fiery or gamey international dishes.
Our vineyards are located in the south-eastern side of the island in the territory of Sambuca di Sicilia surrounding the lake Arancio. Vineyards are located on the green hills of Sambuca around the crystal-clear lake Arancio, whichprovides the vines with lifeblood during the hot summers and allows for a perfect ripening of the grapes.
Vines stretch from 300m to 600m above the sea level on the Belice Valley, where farmers perserve the lush vegetation since centuries.
Our winemaker responsible for the Sicilian wines is Giuseppe Burruano. Giuseppe worked as a winemaker in several countries. From these work experiences abroad Giuseppe has developed an excellent ability to interpret the millenary Italian winemaking tradition with a more modern and international vision.
