A vintage that presents great freshness together with very subtle fruit and that is presented only with this Convento San Francisco 2017 wine, which also incorporates the vineyards destined for the Special Selection.
Convento San Francisco 2017 is made up of a group of Tempranillo vineyards under the DO Ribera del Duero, located in the municipalities of Gumiel de Izán and Fuentenebro, with an average age of 85 years. They are located between 760 and 970 meters above sea level, on slopes and moors. The soils are composed of sand with quartz sediments, red clay and limestone with pebbles.
The plots were harvested between September 24 and 28, 2017, manually, in 15 kg boxes. These were received through a double selection table, of bunches and grapes.
It fermented and macerated at a controlled temperature for 17 days with daily manual pumping over and punching down.
It was aged for 20 months in 225 French oak barrels.
