The Chateau Fombrauge appears clear, dark and deep-colored in the glass with an attractive color. A seductive nose with fruit and floral notes coming to the fore. Then red berries in particular come through with hints of black cherries, blackberries and elderberries. The palate is immediately delicious and perfumed, very fruity and with a soft mouth-feel. And yet it rises to a crescendo in the finish.

From the Canolle family in the 15th century to Bernard Magrez today, six families have succeeded each other in owning and running Château Fombrauge, providing the estate, which harvested its first grapes in 1599, with a rare stability and a pioneering spirit beyond compare. The 2019 Fombrauge exhibits rich aromas of cherries, dark chocolate, plum preserve, licorice and new oak, followed by a full-bodied, rich and fleshy palate that's soft and fleshy, with a sweet core of fruit, ripe acids and rich, powdery tannins. This is a generous, front-loaded Saint-Émilion from Bernard Magrez. Anticipated Maturity: 2021-2035
