This deep garnet-colored wine has a bouquet of cassis, purple plums and caramel with a whiff of dried Mediterranean herbs. Raspberry and blackberry flavors are wrapped in a layer of rugged tannins that peel back to reveal well-integrated acidity and notes of toffee, baking spice and crumbled thyme. -M.D.S.
