The nose of the Babich Black Label Sauvignon Blanc is pungent with black currant and boxwood. Lime, gooseberry and smoky herbals also apparent. The palate is fleshy with a fruit-sweet entry heavy with passionfruit and a little blackcurrant. Underling this we have complex herbal and citrus notes. Mineral and spice on the finish. Nice breadth and length.
Can be enjoyed with a variety of food. Serve it with veal, seafood (brilliant with oysters) or a chicken dish such as a mild chicken korma with crispy poppadoms.
Our Black Label range of sustainably crafted wines come from our estate owned vineyards in both Marlborough and Hawke’s Bay. All have been crafted to be enjoyed best with food, in a rich, complex, and textural style befitting of any dining occasion.
Wine Spectator Review:
A succulent hint of lanolin and beeswax complements the floral and citrus notes in this white, with touches of candied orange peel, lemon balm and white grapefruit on an intense and mouthwatering frame. Drink now. 80,000 cases made, 13,000 cases imported.
